Heather will be actively monitoring the WMS Business Objects > PowerBI transition period. OCLC has promised assistance with the conversion of the ACRL/IPEDS related reports. When report authoring functionality is released later in 2025, Heather will convert some of the PAL2 “toolkit” reports, such as for collection analysis to the new system. The cutoff to PowerBI is expected in late spring/summer 2026, so we will be prepared to support PALNI libraries that have not yet transitioned to Koha.

To support the transition, we are currently drafting a learning plan for PALNI users that would like to gain or enhance SQL scripting skills. The State Library provides LinkedIn Learning access to all Indiana library employees, and these courses can be use for self-learning. PALNI will also acquire titles for a lending collection.

The staff of our host (Equinox) will assist with the creation of a set of common templates in Koha (and if adopted, Metabase), and we are expecting that ongoing support will be part of our contract.
